Green business solutions

Since 2007, TELUS has had a suite of Green Business Solutions that help business clients reduce their environmental footprint. These solutions included telework and mobile work solutions (virtual private networks, wireless Internet connections, etc.), video and teleconferencing solutions, distributed call centre solutions, mobile data entry and automatic vehicle locating systems (TELUS Tracker).

In 2008, we ran a campaign promoting the green benefits of TELUS solutions and highlighted TELUS' green corporate accomplishments. While the Green Business Solutions campaign is no longer an active marketing campaign, we continue to use these solutions to improve our own triple-bottom line and work with clients, particularly the government sector, who are interested in the benefits of our Green Business Solutions.

TELUS is an authorized reseller of Cisco's innovative TelePresence solutions and we use the service internally to reduce travel costs. With Cisco TelePresence, participants in different locations can interact and collaborate with one another. We deployed four TelePresence units in TELUS facilities in 2008 and are installing units in 2009 in Burnaby, Calgary, Edmonton, Scarborough, Toronto and Montreal.
