More than 800 team members live the frontline experience

In 2011, TELUS introduced a new program called Closer to the Customer to help deliver on our future friendly brand promise to clients. Building on the momentum of a similar program for senior leaders, Closer to the Customer provides a unique opportunity for team members to spend a day in the life of a frontline colleague. In call centres, corporate stores, dealers, homes and businesses nationally, participants gain awareness of the challenges our customers face while identifying opportunities to improve the customer experience.

“The observations and learnings from this initiative will be critical in making us the recommended provider of choice for home, mobility and business solutions, and it demonstrates a company-wide commitment to exceptional customer experiences,” says Phil Bates, senior vice-president of Consumer Customer Experience and executive sponsor of Closer to the Customer. “The repetition of this organizational discipline across TELUS will embed a Customers First mindset into everything we do.
