Our operations at TELUS International Philippines (TIP) and TELUS International Central America (TICA) provide educational opportunities for team members through an innovative TELUS International University (TIU) program that lets team members earn college degrees while working.

By participating in TIU, qualified team members save up to 50 per cent on the cost of their tuition and benefit from the use of a library within their workplace. Both TIP and TICA provide training facilities, so instructors and professors from participating schools can hold classes directly on the TELUS sites where team members work.

“I was enjoying work already, but I knew I'd have better chances of growth if I had a diploma. So I tried to juggle work and school, but there was always a conflict in my schedule. It wasn’t easy to find a class that did not interfere with my work. I was left with no choice but to focus on my job.  Now, with TIU, I have the opportunity to finish my studies. I feel so privileded and it gives me a more positive outlook in life," says 20-year-old, Jasson Sanchez.

“It’s actually unprecedented, especially in the industry we’re in, that a company will go as far as TIP did for the welfare of its employees,” Mark Sison, another TIU student, added. “It made me appreciate the company more."

TIU also offers several extracurricular clubs that cater to the interests of the students, offering team members the opportunity to join clubs such as photography, sports and travel. Students also benefit from an alumni club, where they access invites to company events, business opportunities and professional networking.

“Even without a diploma, I was given a lot of growth opportunities here in TIP. Just imagine what else I can do and the challenges I can take on if I graduate? My aim is to be in a better position and to give back the good things I am now provided with,” Jasson added.

TICA partners with two educational institutions, Universidad Galileo and Estudios Superiores Internacionales (ESI), to offer associate and technical degrees, and bachelor and master’s in business administration programs.  Careers in the area of business, marketing, human resources and telecommunications, are a few of the options available.

TIP partners with Asia Pacific College (APC), De la Salle University, University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P), and its latest partner, Systems Technology Institute (STI) to provide the opportunity for team members to earn college degrees in various fields, including business, social sciences, culinary and tourism management.

“This is the first time we’re doing a continuing education partnership with a corporation, and we’re very happy that we are doing it with TELUS,” STI President and CEO, Monico Jacob declared.
